Your rights as a data subject

First of all, we would like to inform you about your rights as a data subject. These rights are set out in Articles 15 - 22 of the EU GDPR. This includes:

  • The right to information (Article 15 of the EU GDPR),
  • The right to erasure (Article 17 of the EU GDPR),
  • The right to rectification (Article 16 of the EU GDPR),
  • The right to data portability (Article 20 of the EU GDPR),
  • The right to restriction of data processing (Article 18 of the EU GDPR),
  • The right to object to data processing (Article 21 of the EU GDPR).

To exercise these rights, please contact: datenschutz@de.schunk.com. The same applies if you have any questions about data processing in our company. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Rights of objection

Please note the following in connection with rights of objection:

If we process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing, you have the right to object to this data processing at any time without giving reasons. This also applies to profiling insofar as it is related to direct marketing.

If you object to processing for direct marketing purposes, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes. The objection is free of charge and can be made informally, if possible to: datenschutz@de.schunk.com.

In the event that we process your data to protect legitimate interests, you can object to this processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions.

We will then no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate reasons for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

Purposes and legal bases of data processing

When processing your personal data, the provisions of the EU GDPR, the BDSG and all other applicable data protection regulations are observed. The legal basis for data processing arises in particular from Art. 6 EU GDPR.

We use your data to initiate business, to fulfill contractual and legal obligations, to implement the contractual relationship, to offer products and services and to strengthen customer relationships, which may also include analyses for marketing purposes and direct advertising. We also use sound and image recordings that are made at events and use them for our press work, company publications (e.g. customer and employee newspapers, brochures, flyers, catalogs, presentations, etc.) and our website and company social media channels.

Your consent also represents a permission requirement under data protection law. We will inform you about the purposes of the data processing and your right of revocation. If the consent also refers to the processing of special categories of personal data, we will expressly inform you of this in the consent.

Processing of special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 paragraph 1 EU GDPR will only take place if this is required by law and there is no reason to assume that your legitimate interest in excluding processing outweighs this.

Disclosure to third parties

We will only pass your data on to third parties within the scope of the legal provisions or with your consent. Otherwise, we will not pass data on to third parties unless we are obliged to do so due to mandatory legal provisions (passing on to external bodies such as supervisory authorities or law enforcement authorities).

Recipients of the data / categories of recipients

Within our company, we ensure that only those people who need your data to fulfill their contractual and legal obligations receive it.

In many cases, service providers support our specialist departments in fulfilling their tasks (e.g. sending newsletters). The necessary data protection contracts have been concluded with all service providers.

Third country transfer / Third country transfer intention

Data will only be transferred to third countries (outside the European Union or the European Economic Area) if this is necessary to perform the contractual relationship, is required by law or if you have given us your consent.

We transfer your personal data to a service provider or to group companies in the United States of America in order to be able to offer you social media functions and video material.

Compliance with the level of data protection is ensured by the necessary data protection contracts with the service providers.

Storage period of data

We store your data as long as it is required for the respective processing purpose. Please note that numerous retention periods mean that data must continue to be stored. This particularly applies to retention obligations under commercial or tax law (e.g. Commercial Code, Tax Code, etc.). Unless there are further retention obligations, the data is routinely deleted once the purpose has been achieved.

In addition, we can store data if you have given us your permission to do so or if legal disputes arise and we use evidence within the framework of statutory limitation periods, which can be up to thirty years; the regular limitation period is three years.

Secure transfer of your data

We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the data stored by us as best as possible against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons. The security levels are continuously checked in cooperation with security experts and adapted to new security standards.

Data exchange to and from our website is always encrypted. We offer HTTPS as a transmission protocol for our website, always using the latest encryption protocols. There is also the option of using alternative communication channels (e.g. by post).

Links to other providers

Our website also contains - clearly visible - links to the websites of other companies. As far as links to websites of other providers are available, we have no influence on their content. Therefore, no guarantee or liability can be assumed for this content. The respective provider or operator of the pages is always responsible for the content of these pages.

The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations and recognizable legal violations at the time of linking. Illegal content was not recognizable at the time of linking. However, permanent control of the content of the linked pages is not reasonable without concrete evidence of a legal violation. If legal violations become known, such links will be removed immediately.

Cookies (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a, f EU-DS-GVO, § 25 Abs. 1, 2 TTDSG)

Our Internet pages use so-called cookies in several places. They serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser (locally on your hard drive).

On the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f EU GDPR), we set technically necessary cookies, which are absolutely necessary for the operation of the website and to ensure its functionality. Furthermore, we use cookies without your consent if their sole purpose is to store or access information stored in the terminal device for the transmission of messages or if they are absolutely necessary to provide the service you have expressly requested, § 25 para. 2 TTDSG.

In addition to our own cookies, we also use cookies that are controlled by third-party providers. These use the information contained in the cookies, e.g. to show you content or to record the pages you have visited. These cookies enable us to analyse how users use our websites. This allows us to customise the website content according to visitor needs. Cookies also enable us to measure the effectiveness of a particular advert and to place it according to the thematic interests of the user, for example.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called ‘session cookies’. These are automatically deleted after your visit. Permanent cookies are automatically deleted from your computer when they expire (usually six months) or you delete them yourself before they expire.

Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can usually change your browser settings if you prefer not to send the information. You can then still use the services on our website without restrictions (exception: configurators).

We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Subject to your consent, we use cookies to enable us to analyse how users use our websites. This enables us to customise the content according to visitor needs. Cookies also enable us to measure the effectiveness of a particular advert and to place it according to the thematic interests of the user, for example. The legal basis for this is your express consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a EU-GDPR, § 25 para. 1 TTDSG).

You can revoke your consent at any time via our consent banner with effect for the future and change the cookie settings. Please note that changes must be made separately for each end device.

If you have accounts with the third-party providers we use and are logged in there, your data may be linked to the respective account. You can avoid such a combination by not giving your consent to the relevant cookies in our consent query at the beginning of your first visit to schunk.com or by revoking your consent by calling up the ‘Cookie settings’ in the footer again or by logging out of the respective third-party providers in advance.

Cookies are stored on the user's computer and transmitted by it to our website. As a user, you therefore have full control over the use of cookies. You can deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings in your Internet browser. Furthermore, cookies that have already been set can be deleted at any time via an Internet browser or other software programmes. This is possible in all common Internet browsers.

Please note: If you deactivate the setting of cookies, you may not be able to use all the functions of our website to their full extent.

User profiles / web tracking procedure

Subject to your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, the tracking tool Google Analytics of Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland. This is used to record and systematically analyse interactions with our website by you as a user.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a EU-GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time by clicking on the ‘Cookie settings’ link in the footer of the website.
The purpose of the processing of your personal data by the Google Analytics service is to analyse the interaction of our website visitors with our website. By evaluating the data obtained here, we can optimise our offer and increase user-friendliness.

Google will use this information on our behalf to analyse the use of our online offer by users, to compile reports on the activities within this online offer and to provide us with further services associated with the use of this online offer and the use of the Internet. Pseudonymised user profiles can be created from the processed data.

We only use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymisation and in basic consent mode. This means that the IP address of users is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address transmitted by the user's browser will not be merged with other Google data.

Please note that when using this tracking service, data may also be transferred to third countries such as the USA and therefore outside the European Union. Companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that do not generally protect personal data to the same extent as is the case in the member states of the European Union and therefore the security of your personal data cannot be guaranteed.

We delete or anonymise the data collected by Google Analytics as soon as it is no longer required for our purposes. This is the case after 14 months.

You can find more information on terms of use and data protection at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html and https://policies.google.com/?hl=de

Social plugins of social networks

Links to social networks

Our website contains links to the social media services of Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Xing. Links to the websites of these social media services can be identified by the respective company logo. If you follow these links, you will reach the SCHUNK corporate profile on the respective social media service. When you click on a link to a social media service, a connection to the servers of the social media service is established. This transmits to the servers of the social media service that you have visited our website. In addition, further data is transmitted to the provider of the social media service. These include, for example:

Address of the website on which the activated link is located
Date and time the website was accessed or the link was activated
Information about the browser and operating system used
IP address

If you are already logged in to the corresponding social media service at the time the link is activated, the provider of the social media service may be able to determine your username and possibly even your real name from the transmitted data and assign this information to your personal user account on the social media service. You can prevent this possibility of assignment to your personal user account by logging out of your user account beforehand.
The servers of the social media services are located in the USA and other countries outside the European Union. The data may therefore also be processed by the provider of the social media service in countries outside the European Union. Please note that companies in these countries are subject to data protection laws that generally do not protect personal data to the same extent as in the member states of the European Union.
Please note that we have no influence on the scope, type, and purpose of data processing by the provider of the social media service. Further information on the use of your data by the social media services integrated into our website can be found in the privacy policy of the respective social media service.

YouTube

Our website uses plug-ins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The site is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plug-in, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This informs the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. By using pages with an activated YouTube plug-in, users agree to the YouTube Terms of Use: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to directly associate your browsing behavior with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
Further information on how user data is handled can be found in YouTube's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

LinkedIn

This website uses, with your consent, the analysis and conversion tracking technology of LinkedIn Inc. ("LinkedIn"), LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland. The aforementioned LinkedIn technology can be used to display more relevant advertising based on your interests. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in customer-oriented marketing pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) of the EU GDPR. Furthermore, we receive aggregated and anonymous reports from LinkedIn regarding advertising activities and information about how you interact with our website. However, LinkedIn is able to associate your visit to our site with your LinkedIn user account.

We have no influence on the data LinkedIn collects through this process, nor on the scope of this data collected by LinkedIn. We also have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted to LinkedIn.

Further information on LinkedIn's data protection policy can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy#choices-oblig

You can opt out of LinkedIn's analysis of your usage behavior and the display of interest-based recommendations by clicking on the "Reject on LinkedIn" (for LinkedIn members) or "Reject" (for other users) box at https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.

Contact form / Contact by email (Art. 6 (1) (a) and (b) EU GDPR)

Our website has a contact form that can be used to contact us electronically. If you write to us via the contact form, we will process the data you provide in the contact form to contact you and answer your questions and requests.

The principle of data minimization is observed in this process, as you only require the information we absolutely need to contact you. This includes your name, email address, company name, and the message field itself. In order to address you personally, we also process your last name, first name, and title. Your IP address is also processed for technical reasons and for legal protection. All other data is voluntary and can be provided optionally (e.g., to provide a more personalized response to your questions).

If you contact us by email, we will process the personal data provided in the email solely for the purpose of processing your request.

Newsletter (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a EU GDPR)

You can subscribe to a free newsletter on our website. The email address you provide when registering for the newsletter, as well as your title and name, will be used to send the personalized newsletter.

The principle of data minimization is observed, as only the email address, title, and your interest are marked as mandatory fields. For technical reasons and for legal protection, your IP address will also be processed when you subscribe to the newsletter.

You can, of course, cancel your subscription at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in the newsletter and thus revoke your consent.

SCHUNK newsletters contain so-called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature graphic embedded in emails sent in HTML format to enable log file recording and analysis. This allows for statistical evaluation of the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. Using the embedded tracking pixel, SCHUNK can determine whether and when an email was opened by a data subject and which links in the email were accessed by the data subject.

Personal data collected via the tracking pixels contained in the newsletters are stored and evaluated by the controller in order to optimize newsletter distribution and to better adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the data subject. This personal data will not be passed on to third parties. Data subjects are entitled to revoke the separate declaration of consent given via the double opt-in procedure at any time. After revocation, this personal data will be deleted by the controller. SCHUNK automatically interprets unsubscribing from the newsletter as a revocation.

Download CAD data

We offer you the opportunity, among other things, to download relevant product information or have it sent to your email address by specifying technical parameters.

We collect and process the following personal data:

  • First and last name
  • Company
  • Postal code
  • Email address
  • Telephone number (optional)

The country is also automatically recorded via your IP address, but you can also adjust this manually.

Please note that your information will be forwarded to CADENAS GmbH, Schernecker Str. 5, 86167 Augsburg, for the purpose of processing your inquiry.

The legal basis for data collection, including forwarding to CADENAS GmbH, is Art. 6 (1) (b) of the EU GDPR for the purpose of processing your inquiry.

You also have the option of voluntarily subscribing to our SCHUNK newsletter using the form. Please note the relevant information in this privacy policy.

You also have the option of having us remember your contact details for future downloads. In this case, a corresponding cookie will be set which will recognize you on your next visit.

Use of the shop

If you wish to order from our shop, it is necessary for the conclusion of the contract that you provide your personal data, which we need to process your order. Mandatory information required for contract processing is marked separately; further information is voluntary. To use the SCHUNK shop, you must register and create a customer account for your company, through which we can save your data for future purchases. When you create a customer account under "My Account," the data you provide will be stored revocably. You can always delete all other data, including your customer account, in the customer area.

We process the data you provide to process your order. For this purpose, we may pass on your payment details to our bank. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, and for the use of the ASM by our sales staff, our legitimate interest is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

We may also process the data you provide to inform you about other interesting products from our portfolio or to send you emails with technical information.

Due to commercial and tax law requirements, we are required to store your address, payment, and order data for a period of ten years. However, after two years, we restrict processing, meaning your data will only be used to comply with legal obligations.

To prevent unauthorized third-party access to your personal data, especially financial data, the ordering process is encrypted using state-of-the-art technology.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). reCAPTCHA is designed to verify whether the data entered on our websites (e.g., in a contact form) is entered by a human or by an automated program. To do so, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g., IP address, length of time the website visitor spends on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.

Data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its website from abusive automated spying and spam.

Further information about Google reCAPTCHA and Google's privacy policy can be found at the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.
